Purpose of job: 

Master Data Team is responsible for creating/maintaining SAP Financial master Data  keeping in line with SAP best practices and the business requirements. The Role holder will be responsible for setting up  Vendor Master, Business Partner, WBS, Profit Centre & Cost Centre in SAP as per requests received from the regions. He/she will ensure that mandatory information provided for creating Master Data is duly approved & report cases back to requesters in cases where information required is incomplete/incorrect

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:

  • Creation and maintenance of master data (for all regions) pertaining to Vendor/Business Partner/WBS/Cost Centre & Profit Centre.
  • Resolve finance requests / incidents (including complaints) relating to creation and maintenance of master data.
  • Support monthly reporting by extracting, validating and analysing data from SAP (R/3).
  • Perform quality audit of all Master Data and share findings with the team.
  • Initiate and implement process improvements for master data creation and maintenance
  • Lead on projects to enable transition of Vendor/Business Partner/GL/WBS/PC CC creation to the online Portal.
  • Resolve requests / incidents (including complaints) relating to creation and maintenance of master data.
  • Update ESG’s and knowledge articles pertaining to master data on a periodic basis.
  • All Regions Vendor confirmation in SAP.
  • Periodic Calls with Regions in respect to  issues resolution if any.
  • Handle country calls as a part of helpdesk queries related to Master Data creation issues
  • The role holder retains responsibility and ownership for the ultimate resolution of the issue / query regarding the request


Information Security

  • Ensure that their workforce are aware of the information security policies and comply with them
  • Ensures that the team complies to ISO 27001 and IGA related requirements
  • Send account opening requests effectively
  • Disable accounts immediately for leavers and Absconders /on long leaves
  • Document and monitor / review access levels of his/her team
  • Provide security awareness and education to team
  • Manage Records to ensure compliance to Freedom of information act
  • Ensure incidents of their respective functions are closed within SLAs

Skills and Knowledge

Financial Accounting & Controlling Skills

Financial Accounting skills (Level 1) Basic understanding of double entry book-keeping including trial balance.  Able to prepare a journal and to reconcile a standing balance

IT Skills: SAP (Level 2)

Experience in creation and maintenance of master data (vendor master, business partner, PC. CC and WBS)

Able to navigate through the FABS menu, general knowledge of structure and some transaction screens.  Able to run basic queries
