Job Title: Commerical Support Analyst, EU
Location: The role could be based in: Greece, Romania, Poland
Requirements: Candidates must have the legal rights to work in country of location at the time of application.
Contract Type: Fixed- term. The duration of the contract will vary on the country regulations. After this period, it may be extended. 
Pay-band: 6/G

 

Salary: Romania: 7 600 - 9 900 RON gross/month + additional benefits

 

Role Purpose: 
The purpose of this role is to support commercial strategy implementation and monitoring through data mining and reporting and inform business  decision making & priority setting through insightful data analysis bringing together market intelligence and business/ financial performance.  Under the guidance of the EU Regional Commercial Analyst, this role is ultimately responsible for sustaining, improving & developing analytics dashboards that help monitor quality of pipeline fill, commercial viability, sales forecasting, capacity fill and   overall business performance and growth.   Furthermore, in collaboration with Regional Commercial Analyst and Cluster Commercial Managers, the role also involves conducting analysis and business modeling on commercial projects, to ensure viability, profitability from a business perspective and support efficient business and operational strategies.

 

Main Accountabilities:
Strategy & Commercial Planning
•    Develops, Maintains & Improves dashboards as related to business performance, pricing, customer, capacity, operational & competitive tracking to facilitate insightful reporting, highlighting findings & recommendations
•    Supports the execution and improvement of the sales, marketing and operational planning (SM&OP). Ensures an actively pipeline monitoring, highlighting issues and/or opportunities. 
•    Works with Regional Commercial Analyst and Cluster Commercial Managers on business modelling to assess commercial feasibility of proposals & / or business improvements, linking up with Regional Finance & Operations as needed on cost modelling.

Market & customer intelligence
•    Uses a range of standard processes and techniques to gather and analyse data of actual, projected or potential customer/audience trends to identify opportunities– e.g. customer segmentation, demographic profiling, competitor tracking and measurement of market share
•    Pulls together market intelligence to identify opportunities and works to suggest prioritization
•    Analyses capacity fill and requirements to propose areas for increasing Demand. 
•    Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and data for the Region

Winning Business
•    Under direction of Regional Commercial Analyst & working with Cluster Commercial Managers, supports the development of high quality bids, tenders and proposals by preparing or collating diagrams/financial data/business case analysis according to agreed corporate templates, processes and deadlines.
•    Assesses commercial feasibility of Existing & New Contracts with input from Finance and Operations for Cost modelling

Relationship and stakeholder management
•    Draws reports for the Region to monitor development of account management & pipeline against agreed set of KPIs within the region, identifying issues and / or opportunities 
•    Facilitates Data Innovation Think tank mentality amongst the Commercial function,sharing examples of process/procedural best practice with commercial teams to drive continuous improvement 

Analysis & Reporting
•    Carries out routine monitoring and standard reporting on commercial data involving sales, operational & business performance, market data, profitability and/or co-funding and sponsorship opportunities using an agreed set of corporate processes, techniques, tools and report templates
•    Supports the monitoring & reporting on plan, business performance & KPIs, highlighting issues & opportunties.
•    Undertakes regular quality checks, provides feedback and implements commercial analysis for products/services relative to business need & objectives with Regional Commercial Analyst 

Sector/subject expertise
•    Proactively maintains a sound working knowledge of major developments, issues and stakeholders within the specific area of subject or sector expertise to build professional credibility, confidence and market insight

Leadership & management
•    Plans and prioritises own work activities, which span across a range of different projects and programmes responding to changing and, at times, competing requirements to ensure effective delivery of responsibilities over a weekly/monthly time horizon.
•    May provide guidance and support to colleagues through on-the-job training and coaching on use of systems/processes relevant to the area of functional expertise

 

Role specific knowledge and experience
Minimum/essential
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
•    Ability to analyze data and identify trends
•    Experience in data troubleshooting and problem solving 
•    Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques 
•    Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities 
•    Willingness to learn new technologies and industry developments
•    Building and maintaining relationships with range of stakeholders
Desirable
•    Ability to use relevant software and tools (ex. CRM, SAP ,BI tools such as Power BI)
•    Understanding of market trends, competitor analysis and key business metrics
•    Experience in commercial planning, reporting & business / financial analysis for senior management
•    Building alternative scenarios through commercial & financial analysis
•    Experience of British Council products, services & strategy
•    Understanding of database management systems

 

Role specific skills
•    Exceptional analytical skills, collaboration, forecasting and modelling
•    Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel

 

Education
Minimum/essential
•    Degree level qualification in relevant fields 
Desirable: 
•    Masters in business related field

 

Language Requirements 
•    English C1
