Teacher's Success Story Role Purpose & Accountabilities We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Teacher, Adults. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing professional development and academic quality within our teaching centre. This includes managing in-house teacher development programs and providing support to ensure the highest standards of teaching. Your primary responsibilities will include promoting and ensuring quality teaching and effective learning of English, providing learners with a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience, and supporting the wider aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission. In this role, you will provide effective line management and support for staff, ensuring that all teaching meets the standards set out in teachers' Role Profiles, the Global Statement of Approach, and British Council Global Teaching Standards. You will proactively monitor the well-being of all line managees, offering appropriate personal support, and act as a duty officer to support teachers, parents, and students. Additionally, you will assist in the recruitment, induction, and onboarding of new teachers, and provide or set up mentoring programs for new teachers or those teaching new life stages. As part of our commitment to teaching excellence, you will contribute to the design and implementation of an annual CPD program aligned with the Regional Teaching Excellence Action Plan. You will actively identify opportunities for staff learning and development, act as a role model for good classroom practice, and share thought leadership by monitoring developments in ELT theory and practice.
